7 Money Myths That Are Keeping You Broke

What guarantees you will be broke forever?

A: the wrong beliefs about money.

Here are 7 money myths that are keeping you broke.

  1. $ is scarce
  2. Saturation exists
  3. Profit is immoral
  4. Using effective systems = cheating
  5. Work for the sake of itself is virtuous
  6. Sales is about convincing instead of providing
  7. Biz takes advantage of people instead of helping them

Let’s break them down.

1. Money Is Scarce

Here’s a quick exercise:

Take a walk down a city block in any major city.

You just walked past billions of dollars in real estate.

And you know what’s even crazier?

Since 2020 alone, the fed has printed $5.2+ trillion dollars.

Yes, you read that right.

TRILLIONS.

Literally printed out of thin air.

Changing hands all day long.

And you think you can’t touch a small percent of it?

Insane.

2. Saturation Exists

One of the biggest excuses people make to avoid selling something is that “it’s already saturated“.

However, they fail to recognize it isn’t WHAT you sell, it’s HOW you sell it.

Your business isn’t just the product… it’s the entire:

  • offer
  • brand
  • reputation
  • experience

3. Profit Is Immoral

A lot of people seem to think that profit is immoral.

However, if everyone truly believed this, they would source everything themselves or go to a wholesaler.

So why don’t we?

Because it’s more convenient and enjoyable to buy from companies that speak to us.

And the price mark-up is the tax we pay.

Profit also motivates companies to provide the best solution possible.

4. Using Effective Systems = Cheating

What is one of the key ingredients of wealth building?

A: leverage.

You see, successful people are ordinary with extraordinary processes.

Their hours don’t earn for them… their systems do.

A system can work 10000000000000x harder than you can.

And that’s also why it can earn that much more.

5. Work For The Sake Of Itself Is Virtuous

This is also known as the “protestant work ethic”.

It’s the belief that toiling away makes you a “better person”.

If this were true, child slaves working in dark dirty dangerous mines would have the best lives on earth.

But… they don’t.

“Grinding” is at the bottom of the value pyramid.

Imagination (thinking) is at the top.

6. Sales Is About Convincing Instead Of Providing

A lot of people hate sales because of the stereotypes associated with it.

They think of a sleazy used car salesman beating on his chest, pressuring you to buy something you don’t need.

Now, take a second to think of the last time you bought something.

The clerk helped provide you with a solution without pressuring you at all.

Yeah… he “sold” you a product you needed.

Literally all it is.

7. Biz Takes Advantage Of People Instead Of Helping Them

This ties in with the previous point.

What do you do when you have a problem you can’t solve to your satisfaction?

A: you go to a company and pay them to help you.

This concept is so obvious and invisible that a lot of people take it for granted.

They think businesses are greedy and out to screw you.

And this attitude is exactly what’s keeping them broke.
